Grammy and Gramps took advantage of some down time in their schedules and made a last-minute trip to Saskatoon for a long overdue visit. They arrived on March 25th, in time for Mom to accompany me to my appointment with the Cardiologist. I now have a confirmed diagnosis of RVOT-VT and surgery is booked for April 24th... gulp. I don't have a great deal of exciting adventures to relay from the week -- due in part to a delayed start to Spring this year, but mostly a result of orders from my doc to limit my activities for the next month. Sigh. Fortunately, some down time was well-received by everyone and we had fun reconnecting, playing games, planning scavenger hunts, going for walks, and having daily Sudoku and Kenken competitions. Ethan even made a minigolf course in the backyard around all the snow Pete had to shovel away from the house on to the rink (his aspirations of designing world-renowned minigolf courses have apparently not waned over the winter months!).

| We planned a fun scavenger hunt at the park one day. The teams were Ethan, Josh and their friend Josh against Grammy, Gramps and Leah. It was a race to see who could find the most hidden eggs (which were each assigned a certain number of points) based on clues I had written. It was made especially tough by the ridiculous amount of snow that was up to our waists in certain spots. |
