The West Edmonton Mall - take 3

What's winter in the 'Toon without a trip to the West Edmonton Mall? It dawned on us a few weeks ago that we hadn't made our annual winter trip yet and got all geared up to go. A few days before our scheduled departure, Ethan spiked a fever and felt downright miserable. The poor kid was out of commission for a whole week. On the bright side, our kids have always been good sharers... and sure enough our rescheduled trip the following week was again postponed when Josh and Leah succumbed to Ethan's shared germs. We rescheduled our trip once again and I'm happy to announce that our third attempt was finally successful! We left at the crack of dawn Thursday morning and made it to the mall by noon. We spent Thursday at Galaxyland and tackled all the rides and roller coasters. Josh's height now qualifies him for all the same rides as Ethan so they had a ball going on everything together. Leah quickly caught on and was rather unimpressed when we came to a ride she wasn't tall enough for. That one definitely has a "need for speed"!!











Friday was the day we were all anticipating... WATERWORLD! Ethan is tall enough for all the slides now but unfortunately quite a few were closed (Kimmie will be disappointed to hear that her famous red slide has been taken down!! We're hoping it's just being repaired and will be back up the next time we're there!). There was only one that Josh wasn't tall enough for so the boys again were the best of buds as they ventured on everything together. Leah loves all things water and had a great day too. Once again she was unimpressed to learn that the big slides were off limits but she had a ball in the waterpark and riding the smaller slides that she was tall enough for.





We drove home Friday night and tucked our exhausted kids into bed (2 out of 3 of them slept the majority of the way home!). Unfortunately Pete has now succumbed to those darn germs that we're still sharing around... but at least we managed to find a small healthy window for some good ol' WEM fun!
