Our Preschool Graduate

Leah is officially a preschool graduate (from the 3-year old program that is; the 4-year old program she'll attend next year is also called preschool in this province but is comparable to JK in Ontario).  Her class put on their end-of-year show last Thursday and they all did a great job.  Leah had been practicing all week at the top of her lungs and we'd been told that she was the star of her very shy class (i.e. the only one who sang!).  We weren't sure what to expect as our boys put us through a gamut of experiences during past preschool performances and it's hard to predict how a 3-year old will react to rows upon rows of smiling strangers.  Leah's place was front-and-center, and while she successfully got through the program without an anxiety attack or shouting at the top of her lungs at her parents' giggles (refer to posts from years gone by for those memories!), she wasn't her usual loud self and had a zombie-like stare most of the performance while she alternated between lifting her dress above her waist and mumbling the odd lyric.  Hee hee.  Needless to say we loved every minute of it and she was very proud of her performance.  Here are a few videos to enjoy...

Not surprisingly, her shyness peaked when it was time for her big solo but we were so proud of her for going through with it (incidentally, she'd been practicing for weeks at home, assigning each of us different duck or quacking roles and always ordering us to "quack" at the top of her lungs - hee hee):
