School Days

The kids never fail to amaze me with some of their homework assignments.  A few this year are definitely blog worthy:

Josh dressed up for "Pioneer Day" at school.  They had to try and be as authentic as possible.  Josh and Pete even baked fresh bread for his lunch.

Ethan and his friend Will had to come up with their own science experiment and then make hypotheses based on changes to the experiment.  Here they are blowing up a balloon with vinegar and baking soda.  They had a blast making a mess of our kitchen as they experimented with oil, coke and food colouring!

The school has a big celebration on the 100th day of school.  The kids in Kindergarten through Grade 3 are tasked with coming up with some kind of display that incorporates 100 objects.  While Pete and I met with our designer one night, Josh was upstairs creating this incredible masterpiece entirely on his own.  We were blown away when he explained that it's a hockey player holding up his hockey stick above his head which he created out of 100 hockey cards.  Is that cool or what?

Not to be outdone, Leah also blew us away when she hand drew 100 Snow Whites!!

Needless to say, the kids are all having great academic years and we're super proud of their efforts.
