All About Leah

Summer trips, birthdays and school have all taken centre stage as of late and some of you have pointed out that there hasn't been a proper update on Leah in awhile.

Our Leah-bear, also known as Leeloo, Louie and Missy Poo, is now an astonishing 10.5 months old. She is an amazing and beautiful child who has us all marvelling at her rapid development. Ethan has taught her how to blow raspberries and they spend hours soaking one another in turn as they giggle away. Josh cannot recover from a "bobo" until Leah has kissed it better and is quite happy to share all his favourite cars with his little sister. The boys have never shown any signs of jealousy towards her and Leah absolutely adores them. No wonder the adjustment to 3 has been so easy.

We took our first family bike ride yesterday. Ethan rode his own bike and Leah and Josh rode in the bike trailer. We were limited to sidewalks and didn't travel too far from home (about 4 kms up the road to a restaurant for dinner), but it was pretty exciting that Leah was old enough to ride in the trailer and Ethan was able to keep up on his own bike.

In other news, Leah is trying so hard to crawl. She has mastered the 360 degree spin while sitting and lying on her tummy, can pivot and roll to get where she wants to go, and can go from sitting to all fours and back again, but hasn't figured out how to crawl yet. She watches the boys intently as they demonstrate for her, but as you can see is visibly frustrated that she can't figure it out.

The other day, she surprised me (and herself) by pulling herself up to standing on the edge of a full laundry basket. Since then she tries to pull herself up on everything and can stand for a little while on her own.

She got herself over to a kleenex box the other day and put on a hilarious show for Josh and me:

"Oh hey, look what I found?"

"This is going to be FUN!"

"I wonder what this tastes like?"

"Ewww, maybe eating it isn't such a great idea."

"Here Mom, do you want one?"

"Hee hee, I like kleenex!"

"Oops, did I make this big mess?"

Needless to say we're having lots of fun these days!!
