Some friendships last forever...

This past week has been full of excitement... the least exciting of which was me growing another year older (ugh...). Pete and the kids did a wonderful job of not letting me wallow and filled the day with lots of fun, starting it off with a yummy breakfast in bed. The city was hit with its first major snow dump/blizzard of the year so our family sledding adventure didn't quite turn out the way we'd envisioned - Leah and I bailed before we made it to the end of the street! But the cake the boys made was fabulous and Ethan and I ventured out after dinner for a Huskies hockey game (the university team which has quite a following) where Ethan's team played during the first intermission. It was a great day, made even greater by my awesome family.






The best birthday gift came the following day when my friend Amy and her beautiful 9-month old daughter Sabine came to visit us for a few days. I have known Amy longer than either of us can remember. We grew up across the street from one another and were, and have remained, as close as sisters. We had a wonderful visit and even managed to fit in a couple of girls' nights out sans kiddies thanks to Pete. A very big thank you to Amy and Sabine for visiting...
